Vittorio Fumasi was born in Naples in 1944 and earned his degree in sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Naples.
After teaching Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Catanzaro, Catania and Rome, he  now teaches at the Academy of Fine Arts in Florence. Since 2002 he has been an Honorary Member of the Commission of Sacred Art and Department of Culture in the diocese of San Marco Argentano - Scalea.

The works presented on this web site represent a small sample of those produced in my forty-year artistic career. They include works made of bronze, silver, gold, steel, wood, fire clay, marble, cement, wax, chalk, plastic, fiberglass and other materials chosen according to the message to be conveyed. As you may gather, from looking at the pictures on this site, my favourite material is bronze due to its unique brilliance and plasticity.
I do not wish to offer any specific interpretations of my works, but rather I prefer to suggest several possible starting-points for various critical interpretations. My Art is inspired by the wonders that  Nature shows us every day including birds, flowers, sea creatures and the human form.
Figurative Art has its own special language, that is not composed of words but of feelings that arise from looking at the Works.
